Velas Turtle Festival – 2026
This event promises a seamless journey, commencing Friday night at 10 PM from Pune to Harihareshwar in a comfortable AC traveller. Upon arrival at Velas by 5 AM, we'll witness the captivating sight of turtle hatchlings being released into the sea. After freshening up back at our stay, we'll explore Bankot Fort before returning for lunch around 12:30 to 1:00 PM. Following a brief rest until 4 PM, we'll return to the beach for another turtle hatching session. In the evening, we'll visit the home of the "Turtles Father" to delve deeper into their remarkable journey before retiring for the night. The next morning, we'll revisit the beach to observe the turtles once more before returning for breakfast. We'll then embark on a sea ferry journey to Harihareshwar, where we'll pay our respects at the temple and savor authentic Konkani cuisine. Finally, we'll commence our return journey to Pune & Mumbai, concluding our eventful and enriching experience.
